Unleash the Blessings
There is indeed a secret to happiness. And it’s simple. But it’s not easy.
• If you live through your morals, whatever you touch will prosper and succeed.
A great example is last night. We were getting our house sprayed for ants and had to be out for 24 hours. So I decided to book a place by the waters edge on Airbnb, but everything was so expensive. I knew my wife needed this little break. And so although being over my budget, I booked it.
The place was perfect. But upon climbing into bed for the night, the bed completely broke and smashed on the floor!
I called the Airbnb hosts, and the husband came over right away with tools, but had no clue on how to fix the bed. Upon inspection, I could see the bed had broke before.
• Instead of complaining
• Instead of saying this was unacceptable
• Instead of saying they needed to fix this
• Instead of saying we’ll leave a bad review
I stayed in my morals
I assured the man this was ok and we shared in laughter and friendship. He then felt comfortable enough to confess how embarrassed he was, not knowing how to fix or put together a simple bed. We lifted off the mattresses, I grabbed his drill and impact driver and begin fixing the bed. Within 10 minutes the bed was completely fixed and we were off to bed in great comfort. Our sleep was incredible and refreshing.
The next morning, the wife and husband feeling so embarrassed, gave us the night for free and offered to give us an extra night stay, free of charge!
So although the reports may say:
• It’s too expensive
• You’ll never accomplish your dreams
• You’ll never meet the right person
If you’ll just live through your morals, life will release the blessings. The problem, is that we know too much. We know all the reasons why it won’t work out, and why we can’t get out of debt, and why we won’t be successful. It’s important to have information and to not have your head in the sand, but at some point you have to say,
“I will not fill my mind with any more doubt, pessimism, or disbelief. Yes, I want to know. But I don’t need to think about all the details of why I will not get well, or why I’ll never be debt-free, or why I’ll never accomplish my dreams.”
